The Common Table (2023) is an audio installation about food traditions and how they are changing. The work consists of 11 interviewes from Japan and Finland with people who work or are involved in or around the food industry.
I had been working a lot with memory during the last years, and was interested in what was happening to all the family recipies usually handed down from generation to generation. Where and how do we store and distribute traditions related to cooking and sharing food in this digital age? What new digital forms of food traditions were being created online? For the artwork we interviewed various people ranging from a Michelin-starred chef to a writer, who creates recipe books based on dishes presented in games.
