Race Code (2012) is an interactive installation created in collaboration with Matti Niinimäki. The work is a "racist" computer program that rates people into higher and lower "races" based on their facial features — something which is, of course, impossible.
Around 2010, the far right was beginning to rise across Europe. I wanted to respond to this with a work that was unsettling — even a little frightening.
