"The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation." Numbers 14:18
Collateral (2016) consists of 1,000 colourful balloons filled with carbon dioxide (CO₂), hung above the viewer like a dense cloud.
This work was an attempt to create something playful that is also unsettling — even quietly frightening. I wanted to find a way of addressing climate change through a familiar memory object: balloons, with which most of us have fond memories especially from childhood.
