Collateral (2016) "The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation." Numbers 14:18
Collateral consists of 1000 colorful balloons, which are filled with carbon dioxide (CO2) -gas. The balloons are hung above the viewer like a dense cloud.
This artwork was an attempt to create something playfull which would be scary and unsettling at the same time. I wanted to find a way of addressing climate change throught the use of memory artefacts ie. ballons, with which we all have usually a fond connection and memories of our childhood.
